Three Training Myths You Need To Ignore
Wherever you go there is always someone who wants to tell you how to do this or that, offering advice even when it’s not wanted or even asked for.. its no different in the gym.. wherever you go you will find someone trying to tell you what exercises to perform, what to eat, even what music to listen to on your iPod….
There are so many myths surrounding bodybuilding, and to save your head spinning from all the chatter, lets try and sort the facts from fiction from 3 of the most common myths….
Don’t Eat Fast Food – Its Bad For You
Almost all of us have had this fact drummed into us at some point in our lives, Our parents, TV chefs, trainers, doctors all repeatedly tell us to not eat fast food if we want to live long, healthy lives… and to a point these facts are true.. if you regularly head to your local burger joint and order a supersize burger with fries and a full fat milkshake, then you are destined for a life of obesity and quite possibly diabetes… the facts are however that a large number of these fast food companies are also offering healthier options including salads, grilled chicken or fish – these will definitely help you lose a few pounds and keep you healthier…. chicken wraps or tacos are usually high in protein as long as you keep all the extras to a minimum .
The next time you are tempted to get some fast food, check out the menu and look for these healthy options, there are plenty to choose from, that will not affect your health, or undo any of the hard work that you have done in the gym…
If You Want A Six Pack – Work Those Abs
Sure you need to exercise your abs regularily, but the REAL secret to getting that sought after set of six pack abs is your body fat %… you need to get your body fat down to around 8% to stand any chance of those abs putting in an appearance…. get your diet right, lose that body fat and sure as anything those abs should appear!!!
If You Train Hard, You Can Eat What You Want
There is a well known saying – “You are what you eat” and nothing could be more accurate when talking about someone who works out…. If you eat well, with a good balance of protein, good carbs, your hard work in the gym will be rewarded with a body that you will be proud of….
However, you can work as hard as you like in the gym, but if you eat junk food all day long, you are going to be very disappointed…. Fat does not turn into muscle – that is a scientific fact, so do not believe anything or anybody who tells you otherwise…. an unhealthy diet will generate an unhealthy body…. a healthy diet will generate (yes you have guessed it) a healthy, fit body….
Remember – A Good Diet Is Just As Crucial as Exercise – Combine The Two And You Will Succeed!!
